CNR, gender dimension in green transition and information technology
On 22 October 2024, the “Joint Conference to address gender dimension in Energy and Deep-tech”, organized within the two EU Horizon Europe projects called NET4Air (Advanced nanotechnology-based devices and smart systems integration in environmental monitoring), coordinated by the Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Energy Technologies (Cnr-Icmate) and gEneSys (Transforming Gendered Interrelations of Power and Inequalities in Transition Pathways to Sustainable Energy Systems) coordinated by the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies (Cnr-Irpps) of the National Research Council will be held in Bruxelles.
The event is open to researchers, scientific advisors, intervention policies specialists, experts in green transition and communication technology and will include presentations and discussions on how to integrate gender equality objectives into technological and scientific research trajectories.
The fields in which women are still underrepresented are scientific research, company management and design of new policies for energy transition and deep-tech, with only 14% of founders in startups being women and 22% of R&D workforce in energy sector companies.
The objective of the meeting will be drafting a position paper, therefore active participation face-to-face is strongly encouraged, while attendees taking part online will not have the right to speak.
