Doctorates, a strategic lever for the training of human capital

The event entitled “Il Dottorato di ricerca: leva strategica di qualificazione del capitale umano” (Doctorates, a strategic lever for the training of human capital), organized by the Department of Health Sciences of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, will be held at 9:30 on 22 June 2022 at the UMG University Campus and via live streaming. The National Operational Programme (NOP) for Research and Innovation 2014-2020, managed by the Ministry of University and Research, will take part in the event.

The event will highlight the importance of PhD education as the main instrument for implementing human capital policies in the fields of Innovation and Green in the recovery from the Covid-19 emergency. Doctorates were the first to receive REACT EU resources from the NOP Research and Innovation 2014-2020 and the NRRP (M4C1 and M4C2). Doctorates have also been the subject of innovative planning as part of the additional NRRP measures, managed by the MUR, such as extended partnerships and innovation ecosystems for industrial doctorates. At a time of great change, doctorates have increasingly become the new strategic lever for the training of skilled human capital, able to respond to the new challenges posed by the speed of technological innovation and able to support the country’s social, economic and productive transformations through technology transfer.

The event will be opened by the Rector of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Giovambattista De Sarro and the welcome message from Vincenzo Di Felice, Director General, Directorate-General for Research of the Ministry of University and Research. Speakers at the event will include the Managing Authority of the NOP Research and Innovation 2014-2020, Sara Rossi, and the external expert of the Ministry of University and Research, Sabrina Saccomandi.
