The Ministry of University and Research (MUR) has launched a call for proposals in research and advanced training as part of the Legacy Expo 2020 Dubai Project of significant international interest. Submissions open from 8 to 29 November 2022. The call implements Interministerial Decree no. 937 of 4 August 2022.
The Project – presented at Expo in Dubai – intends to contribute to the achievement of the research internationalization goals set out in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) under Mission 4 “Education and Research”, Component 2 “From Research to Business”. The aim is to enhance innovation skills and create hybrid, interdisciplinary and intercultural paths and new professional profiles in areas of strategic interest. The total budget is 7 million euro, of which 2 million to be allocated for each of the years 2022 and 2023 and 1 million for each of the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The call involves three lines of action for the implementation of three facilities for the launch and initial development of research and advanced training projects in the Middle East as a legacy of Italy’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai:
- an Arab-Mediterranean campus;
- a research and advanced training Centre for the digitization and reconstruction of cultural heritage and for artistic and cultural production related to Artificial Intelligence and new technologies;
- a research and advanced training Campus on food processing.
Applications can be submitted by Italian institutions of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance (AFAM), universities and university institutions (both state and non-state ), public research organizations supervised by the MUR, public and private Institutes for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare (IRCCS), the National Institute of Health, Istituti Zooprofilattici Sperimentali (Italian health authority and research organizations for animal health and food safety) and by the Central Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage.
