The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) – the partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium – published the first call for project proposals intended for stakeholders of the bio-based industries ecosystem.
With a budget of 120 million euro, the initiative is aimed at the promotion of competitive circular bio-based industries.
Proposals must take into account the following objectives:
- accelerate the innovation process and development of bio-based innovative solutions;
- accelerate market deployment of existing and innovative bio-based solutions;
- ensure a high level of environmental performance of bio-based industrial systems.
The call, structured around 12 topics, is open to all stakeholders of the bio-based industries ecosystem. Applications must be submitted by 22 September 2022.
The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is one of the 9 institutionalized partnerships under the Horizon Europe programme. With a budget of 2 billion euro until 2027, it aims to fund projects advancing competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe by bringing together different players in the bio-based industries ecosystem, from farmers to scientists, to address the technological, regulatory and market challenges of the sector.
