2023 Internet Festival – Forms of future
The 2023 Internet Festival – sponsored, among others, by the National Research Council (CNR), the University of Pisa, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Scuola Normale Superiore – will be held from 5 to 8 October at several locations throughout the city of Pisa and will also be available online, like last year, until December 2023.
This thirteenth edition will be built around the concept of “artificial”, meaning what is not natural but is created ad hoc through artifice. This dimension, fostered nowadays by digital innovation, offers several opportunities for enrichment and investigation, as well as posing new threats by raising a major ethical challenge: being able to govern and direct technological evolution by enhancing the distinctive features of the human being.
Around this theme, the festival will propose a rich programme, including T-Tours – a wide range of educational and dissemination activities sponsored by associations, organizations and professionals with the aim of improving knowledge on the world of the internet and technological innovation among school students, curious people and enthusiasts.
A talk show will open the Festival on 5 October at the auditorium of the CNR Research Area, with the participation of researchers from the National Research Council. The debate will cover several topics, from technological applications to the social and industrial impact of information technology, focusing on the role of computer science and the CNR in this field.
