CNR-ISSMC, International Conference on Ultra-High Temperature Ceramics

The Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics of the National Research Council (CNR-ISSMC) located in Faenza is organizing the international conference Ultra- High Temperature Ceramics: Materials for Extreme Environment Applications VI that will be held in Giardini Naxos (Messina) from 14 to 19 April 2024.

This is the sixth of a regular series of meetings held every two to three years with the aim of bringing together the scientific community to share the state-of-the-art of processing, evaluation, and implementation techniques for ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTC).

The main topics that will be covered this year include novel processing methods, fundamental properties, processing, characterization and properties, response to extreme environment, UHTCMCs and coatings, stability predictive models and new applications and feasibility.

The event will be opened by keynote speaker Giorgio Tumino (Chief Technical Advisor for Space Transportation, member of the Management Board ESA Space Transportation) entitled “The technological challenges for the preparation of the future of space transportation in Europe”.
