On 9 April 2024, the European Commission is organizing a webinar in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OCED) entitled “Promoting Competencies for Digital and Green Innovation Through Upskilling and Reskilling In Higher Education” and connected to the Education and Innovation Practice Community (EIPC) initiative as part of the New European Innovation Agenda.

The objective of the event is to examine the role higher education in reskilling and upskilling in the context of the digital and green transitions as well as deep-tech evolutions and is open those interested in developing talent for innovation in higher education, ranging from students to teachers, from the academic world to industry.

The debate will concern how to strengthen the collaboration between higher education institutions and relevant stakeholders for the development of innovation competencies for digital and green innovation and how public policy can promote reskilling and upskilling initiatives within the EU and OECD countries.

This webinar will focus on three policy topics highlighting their practical applications:

• setting sectoral directions;
• encouraging industry engagement;
• establishing support for students in training programmes.
