European Researchers’ Night: research institutes and universities together at the NET Village in Rome
On 27 and 28 September 2024 from 18:30 to 23:00, Città dell’Altra Economia (CAE), in Testaccio, Rome, will host the scientific and communication activities dedicated to the European Researchers’ Night organized by 11 Italian research institutes and universities with the coordination of the National Research Council (CNR), including the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF), the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National institute for Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the Italian Institute for Environmental and Protection and Research (ISPRA), the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome within the NET – scieNcE Together project.
In collaboration with all the project partners, NET offers labs, talks, shows, exhibitions, connections with foreign headquarters, science speed-date, competition awards, activities for children and a special treasure hunt with prizes.
The topics covered are Earth science, climate, environment, sea and ocean protection, health, nutrition, territory, technology and smart cities and space, with the objective of informing citizens about scientific research advances and great global future challenges.
This fascinating journey into science, including a number of scientific activities organized in Italy and abroad, will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the death of Maria Skłodowska Curie, important scientist and first woman who receive two Nobel prizes.
The event, with over 60 exhibition booths, will be the largest European gathering focused on this special Night. The events are open and free of charge. Registration is recommended.
