Metrology for Climate Action

The role of metrology in tackling climate change is the focus of the Metrology for Climate Action workshop that will be held online from 26 to 30 September 2022.

The event, organized by BIPM (Bureau international des poids et mesures) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO), will explore the topic of measuring physical and chemical parameters for the assessment of climate change. Specifically, the five-day workshop will discuss the opportunities offered by metrology in measuring greenhouse gas emissions and in supporting the development of methods to improve the sensitivity and accuracy of climate data.

The workshop is open to experts and stakeholders engaged in climate science, Earth observation, modelling, and measurement science, as well as to all those who wish to contribute to metrological challenges in these fields.
