On 9 October 2024, the European Commission announced the opening of the second selection to become an EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassador. The call is open to young people between 18-30 years old and aims at promoting sustainable circular economy, a key strategy to address challenges such as climate change and limited resources.
The Ambassadors will raise awareness of the public and decision-makers on the importance of using renewable biological resources to develop new sustainable products and processes. In this way, they will inspire local and international communities to support the switch to a greener and more inclusive economy.
In order to complete their tasks, the Ambassadors will receive support from the Commission, including:
- specialized training;
- international visibility;
- resources to organize events and awareness campaigns.
Young people from all Member States and Associated Countries can apply. No specific academic titles are required; it is important to be passionate about environmental topics, motivated and eager to learn, and to have strong communication capabilities. Applicants should also communicate fluently in English (C1 level).
Applications are open until 9 November. To apply, please fill in the application form here.
