The Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE) has announced “Horizon Europe Young Ambassador”, a training and action programme open to young people who want to contribute to bringing European research and innovation closer to citizens.
Under the guidance of APRE and Ashoka Italia, Horizon Europe Young Ambassadors will design and implement actions to involve their communities on the themes of the five Missions of the EU Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme: climate change adaptation; cancer; climate-neutral and smart cities; healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters; soil health and food.
Once selected, the young participants will attend a training course on Horizon Europe and the Missions and will then engage in concrete initiatives that will enable them to act as a “bridge” between the European Commission and citizens to help build more inclusive and democratic research and innovation.
APRE and Rete GEN C will support the young participants throughout the programme, from the choice of the mission they want to focus on to experience modelling, up to the presentation and dialogue with the representatives of the European Commission. The call will be open between 18 May and 6 June 2022. Selected candidates will be announced by the end of June. The training and Ambassador activities will start between July and September.
